At the moment, life is going well. It seems to be moving quickly because I've been staying busy.
Currently, I am working on a few freelance and personal projects. For one of my personal projects, Jacob and I are working on starting up an Etsy store. I'll share the shop as soon as we have a few items up, but at the moment I can share a little bit about the process of making my first item.
The first item I created was a small hanging wall banner. I created it out of fabric, heat transfer vinyl, a wooden rod, and jute rope.
First I drew up what I wanted on the banner, photographed it, and brought it into Illustrator to turn it into a vector. Here's what it looked like on the screen:
After vectorizing this, I brought it into my Silhouette Studio and used my Silhouette Cameo machine to cut it out of heat transfer vinyl. I then cut and hemmed my banner and then attached the vinyl onto the banner.
I'm happy with the finished product. This is my first time using heat transfer vinyl, and it wasn't difficult once I figured out how to correctly load it into the machine.
Jacob and I both have more projects planned. I recently found a tutorial on how to do foil stamping at home I want to try soon.
